What did JESUS say about.. peace.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I
give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your
heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me
ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but
be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33
Other peace scriptures
Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests be made know unto God. And the
peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts
and minds through Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6,7
Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.
1 Peter 5:7
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on
thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3
And above all these put on love and enfold yourselves with the
bond of perfectness which binds everything together completely in ideal
harmony. And let the peace soul harmony which comes from Christ rule
act as umpire continually in your hearts deciding and settling with finality
all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state to
which as members of Christ's one body you were also called to live. And
be thankful appreciative, giving praise to God always. Let the word
spoken by Christ the Messiah have its home in your hearts and minds
and dwell in you in all its richness, as you teach and admonish and train
one another in all insight and intelligence and wisdom in spiritual things,
and as you sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to
God with His grace in your hearts. Colossians 3:14-16 AMP
Example
Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village:
and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she
had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard
his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came
to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me
to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered
and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful
and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary
hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken from her.
Luke 10:38-42
Summary
Jesus took our grief and bore our sorrows at Calvary, He died for the
chastisement of our peace, just as much as for deliverance from sin and
healing of the physical body. He said my peace I leave you so don't let
your heart be troubled.
Instead we are called to cast your cares upon Jesus by prayer with thanksgiving.
Then meditate on His word rather than the problems. By this we can know
perfect peace, the peace of Jesus and the peace of God.
Jesus exhorts us all to be a Mary and not a Martha from the example in
Luke 10:38 above. Seeking the kingdom of God and all the things we need
will be added unto us and the things that are less important will fade
away.
Finally the peace of God will guide you in all circumstances of life.
Application
To receive the peace of God you must first be born again then meditate on the words of Jesus above,
then take any concerns to God in prayer, and
finally by faith trust Him to be able to take
care of it for you.
